School Governor's Conference

The Slough Learning Partnership and Julian King-Harris.

Interim Head of School Improvement with SLP has now organised two Conferences for the Slough Schools Chairs and Vice-Chairs of Governor's to attend tailor-made sessions over a Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning at the Sandbanks Hotel, Poole Dorset, during February and November 2013.

Important - Changes to funding

  • Small schools – those with 100 pupils or less on roll £350 – NB this is increased from the previous £330 award   All other participants (irrespective of their school’s Ofsted rating) £175   So all schools  now get funding and you can have up to two participants per school

Spring/Summer Term 2014 Cohorts for National College Chairs Development Courses

Chair and aspiring chairs of governors, you too could be part of the next celebratory event for completing the National College Chairs Development Programme.

Overview

This development programme is modular consisting of three units - The Role of the Chair, Effective Governance and School Improvement. Each unit will take around 17 hours to complete. The programme aims to act as a catalyst for change providing access to an online diagnostic to guide your development. Each unit consists of the following:

  • A face-to-face session providing opportunities to net-work with fellow chairs
  • School-based activities
  • Opportunities to refelct on practice
  • Access to a peer learning partner
  • Accessible and interactive resources on-line
